Passive data, active data

Passive data sleeps in silos: produced, stored, never reused. Active data works — it feeds decisions, models, products.

More than twenty thousand digital tools now circulate in companies. Each produces data in its own format, and the pile-up eventually costs more than it returns. Moving an organisation from passive to active data is what every one of our engagements is for.

The maturity quadrant

We place each organisation on two axes: its ability to create value from its data, and its ability to exploit that data in an industrialised way.

This positioning is not a vanity score: it dictates which workstreams to open, and in what order. An organisation that automates before structuring its data merely industrialises its own disorder.

85% of digital transformation projects fall short of their goals. Almost never for technical reasons.

The virtuous loop

People produce the data. Structured, it becomes knowledge. Applied, that knowledge improves decisions — which in turn produce better data.

That loop only starts under three conditions: automated processes, data structured to shared standards, and teams able to use it. All three together, never just one.
