Graduated from the Ecole polytechnique (Palaiseau, France) and the Imperial College of London, Wassim holds a PhD in Systems Biology from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, as well as the “agrégation” in mathematics (competitive examination for the French teaching qualification). He worked as a researcher at the INRIA Sophia Antipolis and the Institut de Biologie de l’Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris (IBENS), and as a research engineer in the private sector (Sobios, Paris) in the design of mathematical and algorithmic solutions for the modeling and simulation of biological systems. His expertise ranges in the field of applied mathematics to biological systems, his research work being essentially devoted to the dynamical modeling and analysis of cellular regulatory networks, such as networks involved in cancer in mammals, in the immune system in mice and humans (T-helper cell differentiation, dendritic cell function), or in metabolism in yeast.
